I thought it might be fun to grab what I consider my top ten products under $5. I’ve probably talked about some of these before, but I thought it would be worth to mention them again in a separate post so you can look for some of these great values when you’re out shopping. Some of these prices may vary a bit depending on where you get them, so just keep that in mind. What are some great deals under $5 you’ve seen recently?
Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder in the shade Transparent, $4.99
This is a very nice setting powder that has a slight tint to it and nice mattifying power. I do notice I have to touch up sometimes during the day depending on the foundation I use, but I really like this. Some days when I don’t feel like wearing a lot, I’ll put this on after moisturizing for just a little something on my face.
NYX Butter Lip Balm in the shade Red Velvet, $3.99
If you’re looking for moisture and color without a lot of maintenance, the NYX butter lip balms would be a great option. This red comes out much more sheer than the packaging suggests, so it’s just a nice sheer red color to give your lips some life. They have a good variety of shades, and I think they’re all named after food, which is kind of fun.
Jordana Easyliner for Lips in the shade Baby Berry, $1.99
This is a great lipliner that’s like “your lips, but better.” I don’t have much experience with lipliners, and I don’t use it every day, but I really like this because it has a very smooth formula and the color really lasts.
Jordana Easyliner for Eyes in the shades Seagreen and Sterling Blue, $1.99
These eyeliners are just as creamy as the lipliner, and they work just great. There were a wide variety of shades, and these are kind of bright but still wearable, which I really like.
Essence 3D Eyeshadow in the shade Irresistible Chocolates, $3.49
The Essence brand seems to be on sale a lot at Ulta, so this is definitely a great deal. This duo is just beautiful, especially the lighter champagne-type shade. They blend together really nice, and they’re buildable if you want a more intense look. It’s just a very nice duo, and I believe there were other shades also available in duos.
Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Quad in the shade Amethyst Smokes, $4.97
There were so many shades available in the quads, but since I have green eyes, I was gravitated toward this quad in particular. The shades are a bit powdery, but mostly creamy and they blend nicely.
Wet ‘n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio in the shade Silent Treatment, $2.99
These trios are just wonderful. They have a great variety of shades, and it’s just a great deal. These are rather powdery, but I find if you just take a little shadow at a time and build up from there, they work great.
Essence Sun Club Glamour to Go Eyeshadow in the shade Long Beach, $3.99
This was a great deal: eight shadows for $4. Some of the colors are a little sheer, but if you use a primer and maybe a shadow base, they really show up nicely. You can get a really nice natural look with this palette, or you can build it up to get a more intense look.
NYC In A New York Color Minute Quick Dry Top Coat, $1.99
I LOVE this top coat! It gives off amazing shine and it dries my nails so quickly, it’s insane. There’s nothing else to say. It’s amazing.
NYC Matte Me Crazy! Mattifying Top Coat, $1.99
I haven’t done much with matte nails in the past, but I really like the effect this gives. It has a thick, milky consistency, and it takes about a minute or so to dry. Once it dries, my nails just look so pretty. If you’ve been wanting to try matte nails but have been hesitant, I’d recommend this top coat because you can turn any of your nail polishes matte.
