I used to have a 101 in 1,001 post, but man that’s a lot of tasks to try to get done! That’s a very daunting number and it overwhelmed me instead of inspired me so I decided to mix it up a bit.
I commit to doing 19 things in 2019. That’s a more manageable number, and then the tasks will be more meaningful rather than random just to meet a quota.
I’ve been on a self-love and self-development journey for quite some time, and I’m ready to really start stepping up and getting bold.
For too long, I’ve been scared to be seen as weak or vulnerable so I haven’t shared many aspects of my life on here or on social media. I’ve slowly start sharing more and more, and it’s been really freeing. Here we go!
— Read 100 books.
Everyone who knows me at all knows how much I love reading. I think I read about 60 or 70 books last year, but I really want to step it up this year. I’m getting more serious about expanding my book collection and my knowledge on a variety of topics, so I think this lofty goal is perfect.
— Start doing tarot readings for other people.
I’ve become more and more passionate about tarot lately, and I’d love to expand that love to help other people. Getting or seeing other people do tarot readings has been really helpful to me, and I’d love to pay it forward and help someone else have a similar experience from myself.
— Learn one new skill.
A lot happens in our ever-changing world, so I’d like to keep on changing, too. I want to really learn about at least one new topic or skill this year to help expand my mind and life.
— Build up my Facebook group organically.
I’ve felt the call to do something more to really connect with the women in my life for a long time, and I finally took one small step to making that a reality. I made a Facebook group! I want to really nurture and build up a community of amazing women to help us all connect, grow, learn and more.
— Take more selfies.
Having almost no pictures of myself is a trend I’ve noticed for a while now, and I’ve been meaning to change that. I got better at it last year, but there’s still room for improvement. I’ve spent so long being ashamed of my body, and I want to help show and document the body positivity process and journey more for both myself and others.
— Inspire one other person.
My main goal or mission in life is to help impact other people. This year, I’d like to make it more of a priority to help inspire at least one person in some meaningful way.
— Paint my nails at least five times.
I love nail polish, but I’m terrible at remembering to use it.
— Start a podcast.
I’m not 100% sure I want to do this, but I’ve felt a tug in that direction lately, so we’ll see where life takes me!
— Get another tattoo.
I’ve talked about this before, but I’d love to have more tattoos. Right now I only have one, a matching tattoo with my sister, but I definitely want more. Maybe it’ll happen this year!
— Tap into my witchy ways.
This could go in a lot of different directions, but I feel like deep down I know I’m a witch and I plan on figuring out what that really means for me.
— Finish updating my vision board.
I worked on it at the beginning of the year, but when I was decorating it, I noticed there were some open spots between the quotes and things I’d put up. Instead of moving things around, I decided that those spaces were meant to be filled with other things. Those things are yet to be determined, but I’m definitely open to seeing what ends up there!
— Find little ways to upgrade my life.
I got a new phone case and screen protector in late 2018, and I was surprised at how much of a mood booster those things were. I’m on my phone all the time, obviously, so why not make it look nicer? I’d like to find other little ways to upgrade my life, like getting a new pair of shoes (since my tried and true sparkly flats have definitely seen better days), a different organizer for my closet or something else totally different.
— Start making my own beauty products.
I plan to make my own lip scrub soon, and that has inspired me to see what else I can make to use on my face and body.
— Incorporate more sparkle into my life.
As mentioned, I got a new phone case. It’s pink and sparkly, and I love it. I also recently acquired some awesome gold glitter nail polish, which I also love. Basically, sparkles make my heart happy and I want to find more ways to make that happen.
— Create a resources page for my blog.
I’ve been working on collecting my favorite podcasts, books, movies and more, and I’d love to put them all in one place here on this blog. The internet is great for finding resources, but it’s tough when they’re all over the place and there are endless lists. I love reading resources pages on other people’s sites, so I’m excited to put one together myself!
— Buy one big ticket item.
I don’t know exactly what that is yet, but I felt called to add it to this list. As I work on revamping my relationship with money, I’m learning how important little upgrades are. Whether it’s a pair of shoes, a purse, a household item or something else, I want to prioritize my happiness and treat myself to something I wouldn’t normally spend money on sometime this year.
— Find more ways to move my body.
I love dancing, but I haven’t done a ton of it lately. I’ve also always been interested in yoga and pilates, so this year I really want to dive into movement and figure out what works best for me. I sit at my desk all day and often sit all night at home, so I’m excited to find ways to incorporate movement into my days.
— Make new friends.
I adore the friends I already have, obviously, but I’d love to meet some new people either in real life or online (or both!). I want to expand my friend circle and see who or what is out there for me!
— Revamp this blog.
After a few years, I think it’s time for my blog to get a little refresh. Maybe a new design, maybe a new logo, maybe something else that’s totally different. I’m not sure exactly, but I’m open and ready for more changes in this space. Are you?
What do you want to accomplish this year?
